I had a very disappointing experience with this office. I called months ago to establish care with a specific primary care provider. When I recently called back to schedule, I was told I had been marked as a no-call, no-show for a previous appointment and, because of that, I was no longer allowed to establish care with anyone at this location. This was frustrating because I had never actually been seen by the practice, and the provider I originally wanted to see is no longer there. Being permanently turned away over a missed new-patient appointment without any opportunity to explain or resolve the situation felt excessive and unfair. I understand that offices have no-show policies, but I wish there had been more flexibility or at least a chance to speak with someone about what happened instead of being completely denied care.

My experience has been a headache for a long time. Now I call today, because the give my 3 months worth of blood pressure medicine and then two REFILLS. But since it’s time for my physical (which I forgot, because LIFE) they had it to where the refills expire before I could even possibly fill them. I have 3 days left! The woman I spoke with this morning, scheduled my appointment with me and said “I’m putting this order through, as soon as you doctor approves, I’ll give you a call so you know everything’s good”. It is now 5:03 p.m and google says this place is open till 6! Yet you can’t call, because they stop calls at 4:45pm? So I can’t find out anything! No one called me and I’m sick of this place playing games with people medicine and their lives. This medicine can’t be stopped abruptly! It can cause a stroke and or heart attack!! Yet I have to be stressed out about this because they stopped my pills because of a physical! Literally playing with peoples lives is NOT okay and NEVER should that be the method you take, just because people forget about a physical. It is a horrible, horrible, uncaring place. Incapable, unhelpful and uncaring nurses. Incapable, unhelpful and unprofessional receptionists. They do not provide care when you actually need it. They are incapable of scheduling a quick appointment to write out a prescription. Instead, they send to a variety of different places that provide urgent care. They do not care whether or not you can get to all those wonderful places, or if you drop dead before you can get there. They just DO NOT CARE! If there were a negative rating scale, it would be minus 100 from me.

I was a patient of community care Rotterdam for several years/my whole adult life and have had some pretty significant medical events for a young person. Rotterdam Family practice was always there for referrals and visits when I needed them. I never missed a scheduled appointment and always paid all my copays and bills. When I decided to have kids back to back, I had to mostly use my OB/GYN for health issues as a PCP, and I did refrain from scheduling well visits with community care rotterdam at that time. I recently suffered a medical event that resulted in an ER visit, and upon discharge I was told to see my PCP for some referrals to neurology and vascular. I haven’t seen those specialists since my last acute issues in 2018 and 2020, so new referrals must be made. I have a history of multiple DVTs including pulmonary embolism and a significant neurological and cardiac history, so it’s important that I get into these specialists. I called community Care Rotterdam to make an appointment with whom I thought was my pcp to obtain referrals to follow up on my neuro/vascular medical event but was informed I was discharged from the practice due to not having any well visits for 3 years.

I typically am the type of person who hates needles which includes getting my bloodwork done! However this time Katelynn and Mahailee did a phenomenal job at drawing my blood! Katelynn made sure I didn’t feel a thing and Mahailee talked to me the entire time to distract me from the needle going into my arm! I would highly recommend anyone with a fear of needles like I did to go to this location to see these wonderful ladies!
